Vittorio Nistri (Deadburger Factory, Ossi ecc.) e Filippo Panichi condividono città e passione per la sperimentazione.
I due musicisti fiorentini stanno lavorando da tempo ad un album di composizioni strumentali, densamente scritte e arrangiate, al crocevia tra elettronica sperimentale, musica da camera contemporanea, e lo spleen di questi anni fragili e dissociati.
Parallelamente ai lavori in corso per la realizzazione dell’album, Filippo e Vittorio portano avanti sets di improvvisazione elettro-acustica radicale, non finalizzati ad una possibile pubblicazione, ma solo all’esperienza “hic et nunc”. Tuttavia, alcune di queste improvvisazioni sono state registrate, con mezzi di fortuna, per uso strettamente privato; e al riascolto hanno mostrato un, anche inaspettato, senso compiuto. Da qui la decisione di renderne disponibile qualcuna, per il momento solo in rete.
Dunque, non anticipazioni dell’album, che sarà completamente differente, ma una documentazione di un altro aspetto della collaborazione tra Filippo e Vittorio.
 
“Aibofobia” (una fobia ipotetica nei confronti dei palindromi, e parola palindroma essa stessa) è la prima session di improvvisazione che Vittorio e Filippo hanno deciso di rendere accessibile a chi ne fosse interessato.
E’ stata registrata su 2 tracce, una per ciascun musicista, in una notte di fine inverno 2022. Senza alcuna preventiva preparazione, e senza nemmeno avere prima concordato quali strumenti utilizzare.
 
La session è stata successivamente editata da Vittorio, aggiungendo effetti di mixaggio (panpottaggi e riverberi per la spazialità stereofonica; giochi di volume per equilibrare le masse sonore) e scorciando alcuni momenti ripetitivi (la lunghezza originale, 25 minuti, è stata ridotta a 21:26). Filippo ha poi curato masterizzazione, titolo e grafica.
 
Con decisioni prese al momento, sono stati utilizzati i seguenti strumenti:

Filippo Panichi: KOMA FIELD KIT e FX (un mixer e relativo modulo di effetti concepiti per la sperimentazione elettroacustica, con un oscillatore, una radio, e altri moduli, nonché la possibilità di ricevere e inviare messaggi da/a differenti tipi di sensori), un ETHER (Soma Laboratory), ovvero un ricevitore che traduce in frequenze udibili le onde elettromagnetiche presenti nell’ambiente e un apparecchio che fa la stessa cosa con gli ultrasuoni (se ne trovano in commercio vari tipi e sono fatti per rendere udibile il sonar dei pipistrelli).

Vittorio Nistri: UNO SYNTH PRO della italiana IK Multimedia  (un synth analogico low cost di notevole versalità, vocato parimenti ad usi tonali/tastieristici e sperimentali/rumoristi) e ENNER della Soma Laboratory (un “body-patching synth”, ovvero una sorta di synth modulare senza cavi patch. A fungere da cavo è il corpo stesso dell’esecutore, attraverso il quale fluiscono segnali elettrici a basso voltaggio, quando, toccando in contemporanea due o più pads, li mette in connessione).

Vittorio Nistri (Deadburger Factory, Ossi etc.) and Filippo Panichi share the city they live in and the passion for experimentation.
The two Florentine musicians have been working for some time on an album of instrumental compositions, densely written and arranged, at the crossroads between experimental electronics, contemporary chamber music, and the spleen of these fragile and dissociated years.
Parallel to the works for the realization of the album, Filippo and Vittorio carry out radical electro-acoustic improvisation sets, not aimed at a possible publication, but only at the "hic et nunc" (here and now) experience. However, some of these improvisations have been recorded, by makeshift means, for strictly private use; and on replaying they showed to have a complete and even unexpected meaning. Hence the decision to make some of them available, for the moment only in digital format.
Therefore they are not previews of the album, which will be completely different, but a documentation of another aspect of the collaboration between Filippo and Vittorio.

"Aibophobia" (a hypothetical phobia towards palindromes, and a palindrome word itself) is the first session that Vittorio and Filippo make accessible to those interested.
It was recorded on 2 tracks, one for each musician, on a night in late winter 2022. Without any prior preparation, and without even having first agreed which instruments to use.

The session was subsequently edited by Vittorio, adding mixing effects (pannings and reverbs for stereophonic spatiality; volume adjustments to balance the sound masses) and shortening some less interesting moments (the original length, 25 minutes, was reduced to 21: 26). Filippo then took care of the mastering, title and graphics.

With decisions made at the time, the following tools were used:

Filippo Panichi: KOMA FIELD KIT and FX (a mixer and relative effects module conceived for electroacoustic experimentation, with an oscillator, a radio, and other modules, as well as the possibility to receive and send messages from / to different types of sensors), an ETHER (Soma Laboratory), that’s a receiver that translating the electromagnetic waves present in the environment into audible frequencies and a device that does the same thing with ultrasounds (various types are available on the market and are made to listen to the sonar of bats).

Vittorio Nistri: UNO SYNTH PRO of the Italian IK Multimedia (a low cost analog synthesizer of considerable versatility, equally suited to tonal / keyboard and experimental / noise uses) and ENNER of Soma Laboratory (a "body-patching synth", or a sort of modular synth without patch cables. The cable itself is the body of the performer, through which low voltage electric signals flow, when, by touching two or more pads simultaneously, he puts them in connection).
